Who’s On Top? Study Says Clues In Your Face

Ever wonder if he’s a top or bottom? Well, fret no more: A new study published in the April 2013 edition of Sexual Behavior claims that people are able to identify who "tops" and who "bottoms" in a gay relationship.

The study, called "Accurate Identification of a Preference for Insertive Versus Receptive Intercourse from Static Facial Cues of Gay Men," found that "observers were able to discern men’s sexual roles from photos of their faces with accuracy that was significantly greater than chance guessing."

The study’s abstract goes on to say that in another part of the study, scientists discovered that "naïve observers" made their guesses of who was the top and bottom by assessing the men’s perceived masculinity. Full story here!

WGB:  What are your thoughts?  I have been so many times trying to guess who is a top and who is a bottom, that I gave up long ago and stopped trying to fit people into a perceived role.

It may sound awful today -- but I used to just feel their ass. If they stopped backing away, I charmed them into giving to me, not minding at all if they were usually tops.
There are always lots of guys whom others expect to top but who would be happy to receive.

If you're not doing both, you're missing out on half the fun. And if being on the receiving end is painful, you're not doing it right. We always take turns.

I am constantly mistaken for a top. To the point where I usually dont respond to people that try to pick me up as I know they have the wrong idea.

Even on dating site profiles where I designate bottom a vast majority flat out dont believe it. (as if misrepresenting myself in that way would benefit me at all...)

People think they know. They dont!
