Wicked Gay Blog's Top 10 Songs of 2012 - (Continued)

(Please allow about 30 seconds for page to load.)

#9 Madonna - Turn up the Radio - This song is one of the best from Madonna in a long time and truly makes me want to put the top down on the car and crank up that fucking radio. Sadly radio said a huge NO to this song. Radio sucks anyway.

#8 Nicki Minaj - Starships -Love her or hate her this catchy tune I couldn't get out of my head in 2012 has head over 101,121,650 views on Youtube and was a 2012 favorite of drag queens across the USA.
#7 One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful -Oh shut up, don't judge me lol. I and a million teen girls really got into this boy band's catchy hit.
#6 Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe -Although I am so over hearing this song the cuteness and pop culture impact it had can not be ignored. My favorite remake of this was the Harvard University's Men's Baseball Team.

#5 P!nk - Try-What can I say about P!nk that hasn't already been said. She is an amazing vocalist, her lyrics move me to my core, and this song is yet another example of why her music continues to move people to tears.

#4 Fun.: We Are Young ft. Janelle Monáe [OFFICIAL VIDEO] -Although this song came out on December 27, 2011 it didn't make it big and make a HUGE name for Fun until 2012. I love this song. I love the vocals and it's feel good feeling!
#3 David Guetta - Titanium ft. Sia I have a visceral connection to this song and still play every few days. I love this song

#2 Madonna - Girl Gone Wild -It was a new year and a new album (MDNA) for Madonna and this is one of my favorites on the album. It uses the true old school Madonna formula that works. I also love the homoerotic nature of the classic black and white dance video and the fact that I can't help but dance anytime I hear it played.

#1 SCISSOR SISTERS - Let's Have A Kiki (Custom Videodrome Discothèque Video Edit) - This was THE song of the Summer and Fall for me. My best memory was singing it 4th of July weekend (the weekend Marc and I got married) in Provincetown with all the guys staying in the same guest house we stayed in. This song STILL makes at least one play each week in our home.

My #1 would be Call Me Maybe. It is pop perfection! And yes, some days it drives me crazy when it's stuck in my head for a whole day (it has and I'm sure it will again on more than one more occasion). Unavoidable, lovely in its simplicity and its straightforwardness, and a sentiment anybody can relate to, which I'm sure she had no idea when she wrote it, which makes it all the more genuine.
