We had a private, intimate, romantic exchange of vows with a fantastic Justice of the Peace with the ocean and the Provincetown monument in the background.
It was the most amazing and special day of my life and I am so proud to live in a state that has full marriage equality.
We are planning a reception in the fall in our home town of Nantasket Beach.
Update: Today was so much fun as we registered at Crate and Barrel. I didn't want to do it at first but after some encouragement from some blog readers, and some family members we did and it was a lot of fun.
At first I felt too ashamed to ask for things we need from family and friends but someone made me feel better today when they asked how many straight wedding have I been too and how many registry's have I been on the giving end of. It was a good point and given that Marc loves to cook and all of our kitchen items are over 10 years old (some much more) it was nice to dream that we may get some really cool things that will enhance our home.

P.S. Mo, we just registered today at Crate and Barrel. It was so much fun, at first we weren't going to do it but decided our marriage is just as special as the dozens and dozens of straight weddings we have attended over the years.
It's under my name: David Goulart

Have a great reception this fall
Only two years to go and you can celebrate an official copper anniversary. Okay, not officially maried for 12.5 years, but togetherness counts too. [and the wait was long enough]
Congrats from someone who lives in a state as equally forward as Massachusetts (Iowa)!
Cheers!

4 wine glasses on their way from Anonymous in CT...random acts of kindness are a wonderful thing....so toast yourselves, and include 2 of your best friends. Maybe a freshly made white Sangria? (please, use Rioja from Spain!!!)

David and Marc
You can invite 4 more friends for a glass of wine, and present nibbles in Hacienda bowls and appetizers on plates.
David & Marc, Many congratulations to you two men from the European side of the "Pond"! Hopefully we are going to get equal marriage rights/rites over here in England quite shortly.
May I praise you two men as being great exemplars for the next generation of young gay men and women? Proud people such as you two who are willing to stand up and publicly proclaim your love for one and other set such a wonderful model to be followed.
Even though thousands of miles/kilometres away, I am so happy to say that I STAND WITH YOU!
Love to you both, and be sure to enjoy each other! :)
Best to you,
Mike K
Congratulations! That is fantastic news, I wish you and Marc a lifetime of love and happiness!
Thank you so much!!!! Honestly, truly humbled.
Love,
David
Awww congrats! such great news! Long live the newlyweds! Much love!
Congrats to both of you!
A little earlier David said "Honestly, truly humbled."
Really, you shouldn't be feeling humbled, David. Rather, you should be feeling proud that you and your now legally recognised husband are a legal entity together - a married couple. Husband and husband.
Shout it from the roof-tops: "Marc is my man, my husband". The both of you are really two lucky fellas!
Best Regards to you both from England .....
Mike K
Congratulations! I've been reading your blog everyday for a very long time, and this news made my day. Best wishes for you both
