I have always loved the Olympics even as a child and this year I have worked myself into a complete fever pitch over team USA.
I love the Olympics because I love learning about other cultures, countries, and the personal struggles and stories of each person competing no matter what team they are on.
Do you watch the Olympics? Why or why not?

Not really a fan of sports in general - I think it's because growing up I was the uncoordinated "fat kid" and was excluded from sports. Though I do like looking and nice muscled jock bods ;)
I can totally understand and relate to Fred's point of view. I was the opposite, the akward, stick skinny guy who loved reading as opposed to playing outside. For the most part I don't follow sports, never got into football or basketball, went to baseball games but never was incredibly fascinated.
However, something strange always happens when the Olympics come around. I find myself counting down the days till the opening ceremony, avoiding news sites so I don't get any spoilers (though your Lochte post earlier was a bit of a spoiler, luckily a positive outcome in my opinion :p). I'm spending most of my day just watching these sports events, it's amazing to see people from all over the world trying to make their dreams come true, and to at least make it to the Olympics is an astounding feat, and like you said, seeing how much each person puts behind it is really inspiring. The fact that I'm watching women's sports for goodness sakes has to mean somethin special is going on (and the hotness level is through the roof with the guys, I mean gosh x.x). It really just is somethin special, something you don't see every day, seeing countries you never knew existed, and sports you don't see every day either. Seeing the Queen of England parachute from a helicopter with James Bond and Mary Poppins go all umbrella fu on Lord Voldemort is just the icing on the cake :)
Funny thing is, I *always* follow the Olympics, although I have found that this year it has very much been an afterthought. I have really gotten into Major League Soccer this year, following US/Canadian teams going to games, etc...in fact, tonight we had one game live streaming on the computer while another was on the TV...and that means that the Olympics just took back seat. I have no valid explanation as to this happened!
P.S. - I still decorated the front door with a grapevine wreath with five bandanas - blue, yellow, black, white, and red - tied in rings around it. I mean, I can still Fabulously Celebrate the Olympics even if I;m not watching, right? LOL!
Yes, especially the summer olympics because I love the gymnastics (men and women's) competition. I've been watching the Games since 1984. I didn't watch the Sarajevo games but I was glued to the Los Angeles games. Been a big Olympic fan ever since.
Very much an Olympics follower. I love Water Polo and Gymnastics.
I love the Olympics! Not missing a minute of gymnastics, beach volleyball, archery, track & field, rowing, and swimming...all mens, of course. And I can't believe Horton is only 5'2"! Can't wait for the 2016 in Rio...may have to take a week's vacation and go down for that. HOT!
Yes I am follwing the Olympics ;)
Water polo!
I watch as much as possible. I leave the TV at my store on NBC but its hard for me to watch there.
As a Londoner I'm just trying to ignore the whole damn thing. The Olympics was a great idea that has just grown to be a monster - and like all monsters it should be killed off.
