OMFG! Look who turned 40.....

There will be no blogging for the next 2 days as I just turned 40 (as of today April 30th) and my better half has a weekend of friends, family, and celebration planned for my journey into the next decade of my life.

The past 10 years have been the best and worst 10 years of my life.  I embrace every experience...the good, the bad, the tragic, the miracles, the losses, the births, the laughs, the tears, the learning lessons that will help make me a better man.  The journey to be a better partner, brother, son, and overall human being continues....

I will be back blogging in full force Sunday night or Monday but I promised my sweetie of 10 years that I would take a break from blogging, the computer, Twitter, and my cell phone.  (Facebook however.....)

Gay conservative group GOProud has one mission between now and November, 2012 — to defeat Barack Obama.

1. Repeal of DADT

2. Every hospital that excepts medicare & Medicaid (which is virtually every hospital) must allow gays and lesbians to have non-family visitors and to grant their partners medical power of attorney.

3. Obama Administration has hired more OPENLY gay & lesbian staffers than any other president in history. More then Clinton and Bush combined.

4. Denounced DOMA, calling it unconstitutional and refusing to defend it in court.

5.Signed the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, the first federal civil rights law to protect gays and lesbians.

6.Instructed federal agencies to extend benefits where possible to same-sex partners of civilian federal employees.
7.Ordered the release of data on legally married gay couples from the 2010 census, conferring legitimacy on same-sex relationships.
8.Ended a ban on HIV-positive immigrants and foreign visitors.
9.Announced new regulations that recognize LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) families for federal housing programs and prohibit discrimination in getting federally insured mortgage loans.
10.Appointed more than 100 openly gay people in his administration, including the government's top personnel official and the head of the Council for Environmental Quality.
11.Awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to gay icons Harvey Milk and Billie Jean King.
12.Hosted a White House summit on bullying and recorded a video message to gay youths telling them that "It Gets Better."

13. INVITED LGBT Families to the white house easter eggroll.

14. Has dinners at the white house for the LGBT community.

Anti-gay, right-wing official busted for drunk driving, pot possession

A leading Rhode Island conservative has been charged with marijuana possession and drunk driving in Connecticut. He claims police targeted him because he’s a lawmaker.

House Minority Leader Robert Watson was arrested April 22 after being stopped at a police checkpoint in East Haven, Conn. He’s a leading opponent of marriage equality in his state and a proponent of tougher laws on illegal immigrants.

Watson, R-East Greenwich, recently slammed progressive Rhode Island lawmakers by invoking the image of pot-smoking immigrants. “I suppose if you’re a gay man from Guatemala who gambles and smokes pot, you probably think that we’re onto some good ideas here,” he told his liberal colleagues in ridiculing their legislative agenda. Lady Gaga has pledged to donate $1M to the Robin Hood Foundation, which will distribute the funds to five NYC-based organizations that support impoverished LGBT youth.
