Just Saying....

If we can go 1 year w/o an anti-gay GOP politician being outed as a homo, freak or cheater, then I'll consider their input on relationships.

Just Saying....

Perfect we are not, but I am so proud of my generation that embraces Gaga as our Diva, GLEE as our testimony, and Equality as our doctrine.

Via MRH

WGB:  I am a lil' older so Madonna is my Diva but sadly when I Googled Madonna and ANYTHING gay rights or gay equality there was NO Madonna and a rainbow, NO Madonna at a gay club, NO Madonna at an HRC event, NO Madonna at a DADT rally, No Madonna Gay Equality ANYTHING when it comes to a photo.  I was bummed.  SOMEONE, please e-mail me a photo of Madonna in an obviously gay supportive situation before I lose faith in my diva!

Just Saying....

When history recalls our movement, let it be that our love for those who suffered outweighed our contempt towards those who suppressed.

Britney Spears performs "Till The World Ends" on GMA Live

Britney's songs are really catchy and I have more Brit songs in my iPod than I care to admit BUT I get really disappointed when any act lip syncs during a live performance. To be honest, it takes away the most important part of the performance...the actual singing. Your thoughts?

FOX News Exec Admits Fabricating, Spreading 'Socialist' Obama Lie

Media Matters has uncovered audio of Fox Washington managing editor Bill Sammon telling passengers aboard a chartered right-wing cruise that he willfully spread the Obama "socialism" meme during the 2008 campaign:
Sammon
Speaking in 2009 onboard a pricey Mediterranean cruise sponsored by a right-wing college, Fox Washington managing editor Bill Sammon described his attempts the previous year to link Obama to "socialism" as "mischievous speculation." Sammon, who is also a Fox News vice president, acknowledged that "privately" he had believed that the socialism allegation was "rather far-fetched."

INDIANA: Senate Approves Gay Marriage Ban

"By the overwhelming margin of 40-10, this afternoon the GOP-dominated Indiana Senate voted to enshrine a ban on same-sex marriage and civil unions in the state constitution. The Indiana House approved the bill last month. Both chambers must approve the bill again by 2014 before the ban can be put to the voters. Indiana already bans same-sex marriage by statute." HIV Classified as Disability by EEOC

"The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the federal agency responsible for enforcing laws against workplace discrimination, has released the final revised version of its Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations, according to an EEOC statement. The EEOC's new regulations clarify that impairments of major bodily functions-such as being HIV positive-qualify as disabilities under the law. The revisions were triggered by the ADA Amendments Act of 2008, which overturned a number of Supreme Court rulings that defined 'disability' narrowly, reinforcing the inclusive intentions of the original legislation."  (poz via jmg)

Nominate a non-profit for the "Rainbow Sponsor" position

The "Rainbow Sponsor" position on this blog is a spot I like to donate to GLBT non-profits for a month at a time.

Most recently it was the Boston Gay Men's Chorus featuring their True Colors Tour.

Is there a GLBT non profit that you think should be featured in that position for the month of April, let me know via the comments section below.

To be a blogger you MUST have REALLY thick skin...

I can't tell you how many of my friends have stopped blogging because they couldn't handle the "feedback" we often get as bloggers that at times can be really hurtful.

I don't know if it is because I am from Boston or if it is just me but I have developed a really thick skin over the years without being hardened to people and events around me.  This is not an easy task let me assure you.

I think what most people don't understand is a blog is a personal opinion and a person individual view point.  People blog about what they are passionate about, what views they hold, what music they like, etc...  For every blog like mine there are just as many that share a complete and total opposite view point and I respect that.  I have said it more than once, if you want a blog that is 100% your political views, types of music, men, stories...then start one.  I am not here to be all things to all people but love the cozy and wicked dedicated group that follows this blog daily.

I received the following feedback today and have mixed emotions on it and as I try to keep an open mind to ALL feedback I would like to turn to YOU GUYS for help on answering. I am not looking for you to agree or disagree with me or the person who commented, simply provide some insight as to how you would handle this feedback.  I get feedback every day and it is really challenging to respond to it all but this one stung a little. And PS, if all you guys want is photos of men and nothing else than I will close the blog today as that is not what this blog is about.

"Maybe you should spend more time focusing on what you do best (showing hot pictures of hot guys), instead of attacking gay conservatives. I dont understand why you are so against gay conservatives or even gay republicans. As gay people around the nation fight for gay rights and with the whole noh8 campaign , you are spreading the same hate to gay conservative groups such as goproud and the log cabbin republicans. This may be as a shock to you but just because you are gay doesn't mean have to be a liberal. Its like the whole black on black crime thing. Stop attacking your fellow gay community! Just a thought."

Happy 25th Birthday to Lady Gaga

Pop star and gay rights activist Lady Gaga turns 25 years old today.

Elizabeth Taylor Fortune A Bequest to AIDS Groups

In life, Elizabeth Taylor was known for her love of exquisite jewelry and her support of the GLBT community through her AIDS activist. In death, the star’s two interests seem about to converge: Taylor’s jewelry is set for auction, with the lion’s share of the funds generated earmarked for amfAR--an AIDS organization she helped start--as well as for the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, reported the New York Post on March 25.  Full story here!

Gay Families Pay More, Enjoy Fewer Protections

As April 18 looms and Americans scramble to prepare and submit their tax returns on time, gay and lesbian families work harder and pay more for the limited--and, in some states, nonexistent--protections they enjoy. But the "can’t get married" penalty isn’t just a Tax Day problem: For same-sex couples, the burden is a daily reminder of their lack of equality before the law.

The New York Times profiled some of the additional expenses and extra work imposed in gay and lesbian families in a March 23 article.  Full story here!
