Just Because... (Scott Herman)

I am beyond excited to share this breaking 2 part interview with Scott Herman (of Real World fame, model, personal trainer, actor, and business owner). Scott was kind enough to not only answer my interview questions but took the time to answer them on the videos below.

Through the process I was so impressed to see how this young man (24 years old) has made one of his missions to be an outspoken GLBT ally. Although the questions I asked are being read by someone else, I have spoken with Scott several times and he is sincere and passionate about his convictions and support for our community.

Thank you Scott for taking this time to share your story and personally speaking I am pleased that we have a straight ally in you!

It does not hurt that he fills out the underwear so exquisitely well. I'm just sayin'.

Even so, I am glad he is our ally regardless of how well the underwear fit him.

Another comment, gay kids could do 1000 times worse than to see Scott as a role model. I don't know about the rest of you, but I was bullied long before I figured out I was gay. If a straight person like Scott had been around when I was growing up, I think he would have been an excellent person to emulate in coping with bullying and steering my life in a healthy way. It might have saved me a lot of anger, depression, and thousands of dollars in therapy just to have someone like him as a pattern for my adolescence and young adulthood. Alas, he was not around in the sixties and seventies when I was trying to figure out where I fit into the world.

Oh and Anonymous from 11 Dec 2011. You are a shitload of envy and cynicism. Get over it.

Is this the guy who spawned the term Hermanantion? If so, I can see why. What an exceptional young man!
