Nation's First Black Lesbian Mayor to Wed

Cambridge mayor Denise Simmons, the first black lesbian mayor in America, will marry long-time partner Mattie B Hayes this Sunday, August 30th at St Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church.

Simmons has indicated that this may be the first African-American church to hold a same-sex wedding ceremony. (Source-Bay Windows)
